A tribute to Dr. S Anandalakshmy: The School for Democracy invites you to the 7th Dr. S. Anandalakshmy Memorial Lecture featuring the well-known dancer and cultural activist, Mallika Sarabhai. She speaks of her experiences on Stage, Street, Ballot – tracing an artistic journey that asks whether performance can question policy, embody dissent, and hold memory when institutions falter. We often assume that art must remain above politics to retain its purity. But what if not taking a stand is a political act? In honoring Dr. Anandalakshmy’s intellectual courage, the lecture argues for lives that refuse neat compartments.
